WEELIGHT
Interactive | Mood Lighting | Sustainable
Weelight is a sustainable lamp that questions the easy electricity we get to use every day. In order to light this lamp, we need to push the pointy part and make a motion. The intention behind this is to work for the electricity we want to get, in a fun way. The spherical base of the product directs users to push and play with it which creates interactiveness. When it is pushed it always comes back to the center where the light eventually stops. The key features of this product can be sorted out as playful, colorful, and sustainable. It can be called playful because of the interaction it creates with people during usage.
INSPIRATIONS and SKETCHES
The light contains a gyro sensor, Arduino mini, and neopixel. In order to secure the rocky movement, the bottom sphere part filled with sand.
The product works with batteries and contains two big pieces of plastic in total. The upper pointy part can be removed by twisting from the bottom when the battery needs to be changed.
For eight directions eight different colors of light will be seen. When the motion stops the light will turn off. Mostly hue colors are used for the lights in order to create a better mood.
When the user picks the light from the colors, the same color can stay on if the surface put on the ground. And they would have a mood light with playful features.
